    In 1790 William was a servant at Westfield, Forfar; in 1792 and 1794 in Halkerton Mill, Forfar; in 1797 a day laborer in Kingmuir, Forfar; in 1800 and 1803 in Spittle Burn, Kinnettles; in 1806 in Inverarity & Methy. In 1841 William was an agricultural laborer and ploughman living with his daughter, Elizabeth, at Mosside of Ingliston, Kinnettles.
    William died at age 84 on 1 Nov 1842 at Mosside, Kinnettles. He was buried 3 Nov 1842 in the Kinnettles Churchyard.

In 1851 Thomas was married without his family, a cattleman and agricultural laborer living at Westfield Bothie, Forfar. He signed his name "X."
    Thomas died 5 Dec 1874 at Butterwell, Forfar of senile gangre of the foot after six months.

    In 1911 he was employed by Minneapolis Steel and Machine Co. as a clerk; in 1914 by the stationery firm of Jeffrey and McPherson Co. as a pressfeeder; in 1917 by Michelin Tire Co. as a stenographer.
    Thomas married Beulah A. Hyers on 20 Sept 1917 in Minneapolis. Beulah was born 10 May 1897, the daughter of Richard S. Hyers. Beulah (S/S 264-78-0472) died May 1985 in Florida.
    After their marriage they moved to 3304 23^rd Ave. S, Minneapolis. In 1925 they resided at 3320 35th Ave. S., in 1930 at 3141 35th S, and from 1935 at 4820 Elliot Avenue, Minneapolis. His last home was at 2812 Oxford Road, Madison, WI.
    From 1919 to 1930 Thomas worked as a clerk for the U.S. Post Office. In 1930 he became assistant managing director of the Credit Union National Association, and from 1935 to 1945 the managing director. In 1945 he became managing director of CUNA Mutual Ins. Soc., and CUNA Supply Cooperative. He was an advisor to the Federal Reserve Board for consumer credit from 1941-1951. Thomas contributed articles on credit unions and was a speaker and lecturer on the subject. Thomas organized 1,000 credit unions in the United States and Canada.
    Thomas died 19 Dec 1955 at his home in Madison.
