Paul Doig (A001) was born in 1780/6, probably Perthshire (not from Stirlingshire), Scotland. [He may be the Paul christened 5 Mar 1786 in Kilmadock, the son of Paul Doig and Elizabeth Doig. However, that Paul is tentatively linked to marriage to Catharine McCulloch. See K213, file WALT1692.]
    Paul married Janet Thomson on 20 May 1814 in Drymen, Stirling. Paul was listed as a farmer in Clachandrie, Drymen. Janet was the daughter of William Thomson in Frew, Kilmadock. [She is probably the Janet born 1 Oct 1794 in Kilmadock, the daughter of William Thomson and Marion McNee; her parents were married 20 July 1791 in Kilmadock.]
    In 1841 Paul was a farmer at West Haugh, St. Ninians, Stirling with his two sons.
    He may be the Paul Doig who died 26 Sept 1866 in Queensland, Australia.
    [The parents are only listed for the birth of Marjory. It is presumed this is the same Paul Doig in the 1841 St. Ninians census, and that his wife Janet died before 1841. Marjory may have married by then.]

Marjory Doig (B001, by A001) was born 10 May 1815 in Clachandrie and christened 28 May 1815 in Drymen, Stirlingshire. [The following link is not certain.]
    Marjory married Alexander McIntosh, pledged on 13 Jan 1839 in Tulliallan, Perthshire and wed on 18 Jan 1839 in Stirling (recorded in Tulliallan). Marjory was listed from Stirling.

Paul Doig (B002, by A001) was born in 1818/9 in Thornhill, Kincardine, Perthshire.
    Paul married Mary Ann Robertson on 14 May 1843 in Stirling, Stirlingshire. Mary was born 30 July 1826 in Stirling, Stirlingshire, the daughter of John Robertson of Castle Hill, Stirling, and Jean Heggie. Her father had died by 1843.
    In 1843 Paul was a brewer living on St. Mary’s Wynd in Stirling. 1851 he was a carter still living on St. Mary’s Wynd. In 1881 he was a gardener living at Causewayhead in Logie, (Clackmannan), Perthshire with his wife; his son John’s family lived nearby.
    Paul died at age 69 on 23 July 1889 of general decay in Logie, Perth; informant was his daughter Janet McLaggan.

    William married Margaret Robertson on 30 Oct 1842 in St. Ninians, Stirlingshire. Margaret was listed from St. Ninians. [A Margaret Robertson was born 1 Apr 1830 in Stirling, the daughter of John Robertson and Jean Heggie. She was the sister of Mary Ann Robertson that married William’s brother Paul.]
    [See 1851 St. Ninians Census. Margaret was probably the daughter of Robert Robertson, farmer of 541 acres, and Helen. Robert was born in 1797/8 in St. Ninians. Helen was born in 1798/9 in Logie, Perth. In 1851 Helen Doig (C009) lived with her grandparents at Kames, St. Ninians and Helen Robertson (born 1822/3 in St. Ninians), Alexander Robertson (born 1830/1 in St. Ninians), and John Robertson (born 1832/3 in St. Ninians).]
    William was a farmer.

    Paul married Helen (Ellen) Watson on 4 June 1869 at 131 Caldonian Road, Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanark. Witnesses were John Doig and Catherine Doig. Ellen was born in 1842/3, the daughter of Andrew Watson, carpet weaver, and Annie Anderson; her parents were pledged 10 Apr 1836 in St. Ninians, Stirling and wed 24 Apr 1836 in Larbert, Stirling. She was a domestic servant at Philpstown House, Abercorn. She died 26 June 1914 in Queensland, Australia.
    In 1869 Paul was a gardener at Causewayhead, Logie. He and his new bride left soon after for Queensland, Australia.
    Paul died 6 Mar 1905 in Queensland.

Margaret was born in 1848/50 in Edinburgh, the daughter of John Lindsay, corn miller, and Alice Lumley; her parents were pledged 24 Sept 1842 in Cramond, Midlothian and wed 9 Oct 1842 in Dalmeny, West Lothian. She lived in Menstry, Logie.
    In 1872 John was a beetler in Causewayhead, Logie, Perthshire. In 1881 he was a car conductor with his family in Logie. They left in about 1885 to join his brother Paul in Queensland, Australia.
    John died 13 Apr 1907 in Queensland.

    Catherine married William Foster on 26 Nov 1869 at Causewayhead, Logie, Perthshire, the bride’s home. Witnesses were John McNiven and Janet Doig. William was born in 1848/9, the son of Thomas Foster (deceased), railway contractor, and Catherine Guthery. He was a bluir at Bleachworks, Dunblane.

    William married Janet (Jessie) McIntyre on 5 Feb 1875 in Auchterarder, Perthshire. Witnesses were Alexander McIntyre and Janet Doig. Janet was christened 8 Jan 1851 in Dull, Perthshire, the daughter of Alexander McIntyre (deceased), joiner, and Jessie Carmichael. After her father’s death her mother remarried to Mr. Ferguson.
    In 1875 William was a journeyman joiner in Port Glasgow. In 1881 and 1891 he lived in Kilmacolm, Renfrew. In 1891 Catherine was not in the household.

    In 1851 Helen lived with her grandparents at Kames, St. Ninians, Stirlingshire.

Margaret Doig (C010, by B003) was born in 1851/2.
    Margaret married Alexander McNab on 22 Apr 1872 in Stirling. Witnesses were John McDiamond and Mary Stewart. Alexander was born in 1846/7, the son of Duncan McNab, journeyman joiner, and Catherine Buchannan. He was a ginger beer van driver.
    Margaret and Alexander first lived at No. 40 Broad Street, Stirling.
