On 23 Jan 1826 they acquired a barn and yard in East Wemyss, sasined 28 Apr 1826 and recorded 19 June 1826; this property was security for a bond of £80 on 25 July 1825, sasined by the Wemyss Generous Society on 26 July 1826, and recorded 14 Sept 1826. In 1841 and 1851 Daniel was a boat carpenter and wright living in East Wemyss; with his in 1841 was his wife Sophia and children Christian (dress maker), Sophia (linen weaver), Jean (apprentice linen weaver), and Janet; and with him in 1851 were his wife, daughter, Janet, and grandson, James Grub.

In 1851 Agnes Doig, "widow," was a linen weaver living with her mother in the Village of Springfield, Cupar. In 1871 Agnes, "married", lived in Springfield with her son, Alexander, a mason.
Agnes' death certificate was witnesses by her son Alexander Doig of Springfield, Cupar. He listed his mother as single, age 57, the daughter of Robert Doig, laborer, and Elizabeth McLeod.
Agnes died by suicide between 17 and 20 July 1872. From the Fifeshire Journal dated 25 July 1872 under the Springfield news: "A middle-aged woman named Agnes Doig who has for some time been in a weak state of mind went amissing from her home here on the morning of Wednesday, the 17th inst. On Saturday her body was found in a mill lade at Peterhead near this place [Collessie Parish]. There was a deep stab in the throat and a table knife belonging to the deceased was lying near her body. It is supposed she had stabbed herself with the knife and then fallen into the water. Her remains were interred at Monimail on Sunday."
[Agnes' son, Alexander, listed his father as George Doig, laborer, and mother as Agnes McLeod on his marriage certificate. On his death certificate his parents are listed as George Doig, quarry laborer, and Agnes Doig. This George Doig may have been her younger brother, a case of incest that later led to her suicide.]
